Original family civil status for each, valid for no more than 3 months

Original individual civil status (Ikhraj kayd fardi) for each, valid for no more than 3 months

Both documents must be legalized by the Ministry of Interior and then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lebanon and 1 photocopy of each

If single, 2 photocopies of celibacy statement

Birth certificate (detailed form mentioning mother’s name and maiden name, father’s name, date and place of birth) and 2 photocopies

If one spouse is divorced lebanese citizens must provide a true copy of the divorce certificate, legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lebanon and 1 photocopy. Foreign spouses must provide 2 photocopies of the divorce certificate

The certificate of marital status should manifest itself in the phrase: "I am not married at the moment."

If the person who wishes to marry is under 18 years of age, the assignment of the father is necessary (if the father has died, the consent of the mother; if both parents have died, the recognition of the legal guardian)

If one of the spouses is divorced, an apostille * is put on the divorce certificate, translated into English and certified by a notary

If one of the spouses is a widower, a death certificate - an Apostille * is put, who is translated into English and certified by a notary

Passports (valid for at least 3 months after returning from a trip)

Birth certificates (translated into English). Certificates are valid for 2 months

For citizens of Ukraine, Belarus, copies of the passport (certified by a notary) are additionally required

A marriage certificate with the seal of the Ministry of Justice is received within 3-5 days after the registration of the marriage

A marriage performed in Cyprus is recognized as valid on the territory of Russia.
The municipality has the right to require additional documents for registration, and for this all documents are sent for verification

Apostille* on the signature of a notary on a certificate of marital status (hereinafter, the translation of the certificate in the translators' office and its certification by a notary) for citizens of Ukraine and Belarus

* Apostille (fr. Apostille) is a special sign affixed to official documents of a non-commercial nature, coming from institutions and organizations of the participating countries

Certificate of marital status at the moment (certificate of freedom), taken at the registry office, translated into English and certified by a notary:

Tamtzit rishum or a certificate of marital status. The main thing is not to note that this document is valid only 3 months after receipt

All these documents must be translated into English. At the same time, they also need to be affixed with an Apostille, the signature of the translator must be officially certified by a notary

Certificate of divorce/death certificate if widower/widow

Recent Certificate of Marital Status issued by a government authority in the country of origin (i.e. Municipality, Ministry of Interior, Embassy etc). For citizens of Greece, a Marriage Licence from the Municipality in Greece is required

For a civil marriage between third country citizens, as well as between Cypriot or European citizens and third country citizens, the following documents must be provided:

Divorce Certificate (Decree Absolute)* If applicable

Death Certificate of spouse* If applicable

Passport or European Identity Card

To be valid and recognized, all the above documents must be original documents issued no earlier than three (3) months before the date of the couple’s application (unless otherwise stated on the document), and officially translated into English

Documents must also be legalized in the country of origin by carrying an APOSTILLE stamp if the interested party’s country is a member of the Hague Convention, or otherwise legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the country’s embassy or consulate in Cyprus

In accordance with the new regulation (EU) 2016/119, which was implemented on 16 February 2019, the APOSTILLE stamp is not required on the certificates issued by EU countries
